Endodontics is that part of dentistry that deals with the inside of the tooth. It deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the dental pulp (tooth nerve) and periapical infections (in the bone around the roots).
The dentist performs endodontic treatment (devitalization) of a tooth when it can no longer be kept alive, either because it is already necrotic (“dead”) or because it is in danger of becoming so. The aim of a root canal is to clean the canal and to hermetically seal the root permanently, thus avoiding any risk of infection.
A tooth that has been properly treated with root canal therapy and completed with a treatment to restore the solid upper part, retains its function and is harmless to the organism.
At the Geneva dental clinic we combine the latest techniques of mechanised endodontics, operating microscope and ultrasound to achieve optimal treatment.
This treatment lasts approximately one hour.
Cost of treatment
The costs related to the treatment of a tooth / a root canal start at CHF 400.
